Welcome back to Winter! The season is playing its usual games with our schedule, as snow and ice cancel dances and classes. Plus, many are sick. It’s so hard to hear about illness and death; it seems like there are even more affected lately than usual. I’m saddened almost every day to receive news of another person in the hospital. This new normal of dealing with Covid just stinks…
The Celebration of Life service for our DWJ sister Sherri is this Thursday, January 13th, at 2 pm, at Christ Community Church (37W100 Bolcum Rd., St. Charles, IL). Please come if you can. If you cannot and prefer to watch it, the service will be live streamed on CCC’s YouTube channel, as well as their website, http://www.ccclife.
Dancing continues to help me keep my spirits up, and my mind focused. If you feel the same, please take a look at the revised schedule, below (McHenry classes will now return in February instead of January, and Hanover Township’s classes resume 1/24 after a 22-month absence).
I’ll be zipping out to Delaware for a quick 48-hour visit from Sunday the 16th thru Tuesday afternoon the 18th (I’ll be back in time to dance at Gambit’s). Monday evening’s lessons on the 17th are cancelled, and Tuesday morning’s class will meet at 11:15 on Wednesday morning the 19th instead. Ray and I will be hosting our first INTERMEDIATE line dance workshop together on Sunday afternoon in Maryland! I’ll present Banjo & Suicide Mission (representing my 2 favorite choreographers, Lynn Card & Rob Holley) and Ray will teach The Vibe & Four on the Floor. Workshops are becoming more popular, as dancers can get a more intense, quick “fix” at one shot. I’ll be teaching a BEGINNER workshop on my own later this month, on the 30th, at Wheaton VFW – try it; you may like it!!
Additionally, the password for video reviews (to help you learn and remember your line dances) is available by clicking the link below. You can use your purple Dance With Janet card if you wish (use 12/99 for the expiration date and 111 for the 3 digit code). The password will be in your emailed receipt.
Still hoping for the best,
