This husky knows it’s Covid who stole Christmas this year; it’s affecting more and more people every day.  Still, things could always be worse.  We can keep our sanity if we intentionally try to keep a positive outlook.  Although the Christmas holidays will probably mirror Thanksgiving – a shadow of the usual – I’m trying to look on the bright side. Kavik, Nugget, and I have transitioned to our new home, and the end of searching for items in boxes is in sight.  I’m teaching live virtual classes in my new dance room, and it’s so darn cozy; I love it.   The neighborhood is becoming more aglow with Christmas lights every day.  How beautiful it is to see the world clinging to hope!  I see kids playing outside and people walking around town, with and without dogs.  Joy might feel elusive this season, but it’s still there.  I’m sure my daughters will be glad to hear I’m thinking about Christmas shopping.  Life is still good!!

Don’t let your line dancing skills get too rusty!!  Courtney and I will be filming our Christmas Dance this year LIVE on Friday December 18th from 7 – 8:30 pm CST ($8).  Come join us VIRTUALLY!  Dancing familiar dances to Christmas songs is sure to cheer you up.  Register at (the event is listed on every page).  Plus, I’m teaching other classes virtually as well.  It’s not as much fun as dancing with people, but during this lockdown, it’s better than nothing.  Take a look at the schedule:

– Beginner 1 VIRTUAL Line Dancing from 10:00 – 11:00 am CST thru Elgin Senior Center’s website, FREE (visit, News & Events in the blue menu bar, Elgin Events, Events Calendar on the very bottom left, View Details under Line Dancing With Janet – you must register and the link will then be sent to you)
