The world is suddenly opening up at breakneck speed – I’M THRILLED!! Yet my schedule has changed just as fast, sometimes multiple times a day. I’m trying to keep track of it and believe me, it’s a challenge. I keep hanging onto my head and trying not to scream. That’s why I’m surprised I haven’t pulled all my hair out! Morning classes haven’t changed, but the evening ones sure have.
You may have noticed we’ve had some website problems this month. Courtney is hard at work trying to correct those issues; thank you for your patience. She is trying to remain unflappable, but it’s difficult. Wine, cheese, and chocolate help, of course.
Monday nights will debut pay-as-you-go Couples Lessons (6:15 – 7:30) and Intermediate line dance classes (7:45 – 9:00) at our new location in Elgin (161 W. River Rd. in the clubhouse behind Judson University). I’ll teach both classes; no registration is required, and we start the second week in July. The Intermediate classes will be broadcasted LIVE via Zoom for those who wish to continue to attend virtually, and can be ordered individually at http://www.dancewithjanet.
Tuesday nights continue at Gambit’s in Bartlett with DJ Atlas from 7-10 pm ($5 cover; lessons at 7:30 & 8:30). He plays lines & some couples; we have a lot of fun! It’s been WONDERFUL to dance together again after being apart for so long. Talk about healing for the soul!!
After all that hassle trying to set up Wednesday nights, it’s all been scrapped. We WILL NOT be dancing at the Winery or the St. Charles Park District (or the Wheaton Park District!) at all; I’m sorry. Instead, I’ll be teaching Beginner 1 (6:15 – 7:30) & Beginner 2/Improver (7:45 – 9:00) classes at the Bloomingdale Park District, as of July 7th. Register at http://www.
I’m really enjoying teaching Beginner 2 line dance lessons at Heart & Sole in Joliet on Thursday nights. It’s so rewarding to watch couples dancers apply their knowledge to lines.
Fridays nights you can find me at the Spotted Fox Ale House in St. Charles with DJ Dave (as well as on Saturday nights). We are back by popular demand to hosting lines & couples TWO nights per weekend starting June 18th. Lessons are at 8:30 & 9:30 . I’ll teach on the first & third Fridays, and BOOT SCOOTIN’ JUDY RICE will teach on the second & fourth Fridays. How’s that for teamwork?
Don’t forget the return of DJ Jeff on Sunday June 27th for dancing couples & lines at the Sheridan American Legion from 6 – 9 pm!! Let’s hope he remembers how to play songs, lol!
An email will go out around June 23rd with the finalized (I HOPE!!) schedule for July.
And Happy Fathers’ Day to all our dads!!
