WE’RE BACK! Last year was so much fun; we hope you can join us for Round TWO!
This year’s Dance Party will be hosted by the lovely HOLIDAY INN – CRYSTAL LAKE on Rt. 31. You’ll never know you’re on a main road once you’re inside; the recently remodeled hotel overlooks a small lake surrounded by trees. Shopping and restaurants are plentiful within a few minutes’ drive! It’s a perfect place for a dance-cation, even if you live close by. Please stay the weekend to learn, dance, party, and support our host hotel! Our room block is reserved till MAY 3, 2024 (double queens/king with sofa are both $124/night).
Most of our fabulous INSTRUCTORS are returning this year, as you loved them all!! Take a bunch of lessons from your favorites and learn new moves, all in one convenient location. Line dancers AND couples dancers are welcome; click the schedule button below to see what exactly will be taught.
Chicago’s DJ DAVE will be returning to host our open dances at night from 7 – midnight! He’ll play to line dancers AND couples dancers in the same room – two floors, two types of dancing, to one song (get creative, couples!! You can dance to line dance songs too). DJ Jeff K. will be playing older country music to couples exclusively in an additional ballroom until you drop on Friday and Saturday nights. There’s something for everyone!
REGISTRATION IS OPEN!! Save extra by snagging the Early Bird Weekend Pass rate of $119 by May 3rd. Dancing all weekend on silky smooth floors to all your favorite songs (at a hotel with purple decor, to boot!) is the best Country Dance Party in the Midwest of the year!!

REMINDER, the EARLY BIRD RATE EXPIRES IN THREE WEEKS!! Make sure you register by May 3rd for the event AND for your hotel room, as prices go up for both on May 4th. Our room block is close to being sold out, so book your $124 room for your 3-day dance-cation as soon as you can! Press 3 for the front desk when you call 815-477-7000 to stay on site (and NOT get transferred to the main reservation line); when you ask for our group rate under MCD, your card won’t be charged until check in. midwestcountrydanceparty.com by the end of Sunday, 4/14 - 20 AWESOME NEW LINE DANCES will be taught (TWICE each, so you remember them!); Gail Dawson (TN) will be teaching six of her own. Lynn Card (MN), Rachel Mercedes (IL), Kat Warner (IN) and I will teach 14 between us, by Lynn and various other choreographers
- 8 DIFFERENT LEAD & FOLLOW DANCES will be taught by some of the best couples instructors in the Midwest: Brian B. & Miss Megan (KY), Rachel Mercedes & Eric Nava (IL), and Kat Warner & Eli Wilson (IN)
- DJ DAVE will host open line & couples dancing in the main ballroom, with DJ JEFF KRUSE playing 90’s country for couples only in a separate ballroom – both rooms will run on Friday AND Saturday night till you drop
- DANCE SHOES OF TENNESSEE will be in the Acorn Room #2 with hundreds of pairs in gobs of colors of – you guessed it – dance shoes for you to drool over and take home with you
- WONDERTHUMBS MASSAGE THERAPY will be in the hallway across from the ballrooms to work out any knots you may develop during your hours of dancing
- PURA VIDA HEALTH by Charisse DiMeo & PAPARAZZI will be in the Acorn Room #1 with doTERRA oils, hand & foot oil treatments, and jewelry out the wazoo
- PRIVATE LESSONS will be available with your favorite instructors – just ask them; they’re pretty agreeable
- WORSHIP with us at SUNDAY MORNING STILLNESS led by our own “Jay O” from 9 – 10 am in the Acorn Room #3
- STEP SHEETS will be in a binder at the registration table for you to take a picture; this method is working
- SOUVENIR SHIRTS need to be ordered by Monday 4/15 to be guaranteed a shirt at the event. You can order them thru 5/3, but the sooner the better; limited quantities will be available at MCDP

Since the dance floor will be set up Thursday, we’re opening EARLY for a THURSDAY 5/30 EVENING DANCE from 7 pm – midnight with DJ DAVE!! Cover is $20 at the door; just show up to get an early start to your weekend dance-cation!! Note that this is a SEPARATE CHARGE and IS NOT INCLUDED IN YOUR WEEKEND PASS.
Pretty cool, huh? It may only be our second year, but it’s gonna be one heck of a party!!!
