Yet MORE changes??!!  I know, it’s stressful, how am I going to remember this, why do you have to change things, life is good like it is, I know, I know.  The bottom line is, life is change, and it’s time for another one.  It will be ok; please bear with me.

I’m getting more and more calls from people who want to learn to line dance.  They hear the siren call of the music and off they go to Saddle Up at Q or Sundance Saloon – or even Midway Bowling Alley!  They love what they see and call me for lessons; yippee!  The more, the merrier!!  But I have limited Brand New Beginner 1 classes to offer them, and they come from all over the Chicagoland suburbs.

Thus, I’ve decided to merge the two levels of Beginner classes into one.  I did the same thing with the two levels of Intermediate years ago, and it worked.  This will work too.  WE ALREADY DANCE HARDER & EASIER DANCES IN THE SAME CLASS within the same level, which is what will be happening with this merge.  In an existing B2 class, we do harder and easier line dances within a “session” (group) of nine B2 line dances.  Now, I’ll be working with TWO “sessions” (groups) of nine line dances.  For example, when the next 6-week chunk of classes start on April 18th in Hoffman Estates and Darien Park Districts, instead of teaching the B1 Session 8 curriculum, Betsy and I will be teaching the Session 8 curriculum for Beginner 1 AND Beginner 2.  This will give us twice the number of dances from which to choose, so we’ll be able to match the line dances presented with the comfort level of the people in attendance.  Other (aka drop-in) classes will follow the same format, but we’ll take about two months to cover the same material.

Again, easier AND harder line dances will be taught in each Beginner class, tailored to the dancers present. Beginner 1 line dances are ideal for those who have never danced before or are just starting to line dance. Patterns are basic and easy to memorize and can be danced to any music you currently own.  Cupid Shuffle & Electric Slide are perfect examples of Beginner 1 line dances.  Improver/Beginner 2 line dances have substance, but won’t give you a headache. These more complex patterns build on the basic steps of the easier line dances already taught.  Reggae Cowboy & Skip are solid examples of Improver/Beginner 2 line dances.

So, never fear.  If you attend a class with seasoned dancers, nothing will change unless someone new appears.  We’ll then do a few easier line dances for that class, and isn’t that what happens already?  I’ve got ya; this isn’t my first rodeo. Emoji

All right!!  Thanks for your understanding, as always, and let’s DANCE!!  DJ Dave will be spinning tunes for us TONIGHT 4/9 at Carmina’s and then again FRIDAY 4/12 at the Elgin Moose Lodge.  See ya there!!
